JOHN MAYER

Mayer’s third studio album: CONTINUUM (September 2006) follows the multi-platinum ROOM FOR SQUARES (2001) and HEAVIER THINGS (2003) and marks his first turn as producer. It is his most soulful, cohesive collection yet and the singer/songwriter/guitar slinger says it’s no accident that this project is where all of his efforts, his potential, and his disparate influences fully come together.

“This is the first endeavor in my entire life, music or otherwise, that I did not cop out for a second on.”

A hugely successful international tour was coupled with the success of “Waiting On The World To Change” on domestic radio. Its rapid ascent to number 1 led to two awards at the 49th Grammy Awards in February 2007, “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” as well as the designation of the first male artist to score five Top 5 hits in the history of the Adult Top 40 BDS chart.

Mayer made the cover of Rolling Stone (#1020) in February 2007, named as one of the "New Guitar Gods" along with John Frusciante and Derek Trucks.

In May 2007, John was selected for TIME Magazine's Top 100 List as one of the most influential people of the year. This exclusive accolade shows Mayer’s far-reaching influence is not unique to the world of music, but he’s become a culture creator onto himself. John continues with his largest tour to date, headlining more than 40 domestic dates carrying into early August 2007.
